CHC2051: Anglican Studies
This course gives a brief survey of the history of the Church of England from Roman times until the twentieth century. An introduction to the history and nature of the Anglican Communion. A survey of the history of the Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and a description of its ministry. An introduction to Anglican understandings of baptism, eucharist and ministry. An introduction to Anglican spirituality, moral theology, ethics and social teaching. An introduction to major Anglican theologians. An introduction to the principles of Anglican worship and the development of the Anglican liturgical tradition.
