Fees and other Costs

Course costs

The fee for each LTh course is $375 (GST incl).

This includes the cost of tutoring as well as costs for resource materials provided by EIDTS and assessment costs of written work.

One or two key texts may be required and a student should allow up to $150 for these.

During the year a student may wish to contact their tutor - allowance needs to be made for the cost of phone calls and postage for sending assignments to tutors for marking.

Key text/s

1 or 2 texts not included in the cost - allow up to $150 for these. EIDTS occasionally has second-hand books for sale.

Postage

For sending and return of assignments (2-4), and for contacting the tutor.

Phone Calls

EIDTS has an 0-800 number.  You will need to allow the cost if phoning your tutor but it won’t cost you anything to ring EIDTS.

Residential Schools

Residential Schools provide an opportunity for distance education students to meet face to face with other students, and to experience interactive learning. Students are encouraged to attend at least one Residential School in the course of their LTh studies. A number of courses will be offered each year which combine a Residential School with ongoing reading and assignments.

The cost for Residential Schools (including accommodation) is met by EIDTS. Students will need to make their own arrangements for travel and meet the costs for that. Assistance towards travel costs is available on application to the Academic Registrar. Applications need to be lodged with the Academic Registrar prior to registration.

Student Loan and allowances

The Licentiate of Theology is an accredited course under NZQA, and students are able to receive government funding and student allowances. Information regarding this is available from the Academic Registrar.
