Extramural study requires devotion and ongoing dedication. This is so much easier to sustain when you enjoy the process, like a favourite hobby, and when you don't feel alone. After nearly 20 years providing academic correspondence courses in theology, we have learned how to make home study more collegiate, more supportive and more successful for you.
That's why our distance tutors keep in contact with course participants during the whole course process... with ongoing help, comments and encouragement.
DIRECTOR
Linda Cowan
Linda took on the role of Director in 2011. After 13 years as Principal of Waitaki Girls’ Linda resigned and
moved to Christchurch where she had been involved in part-time positions
as a learning support tutor at the NZ College of Early Childhood
Education and as the Children and Family Worker for the St Stephen’s
Presbyterian Parish.
Of her position with EIDTS Linda says that having completed a Diploma in Theology from the University of Otago by distance learning, she is committed to the concept of adult learning and the opportunity to learn from home.
Linda is an active lay preacher and continues her involvement with children's ministry in a voluntary capacity.
ACADEMIC REGISTRAR
Sue Haley
Sue is the Academic Registrar of the EIDTS. She was formerly a primary school teacher and has been involved with EIDTS since its inception in 1993.
